Purpose
In this report, we will further examine how the usage of Management Information Systems contributes to Nike’s sales strategy and business process. We will analyze the usage by conducting research and interviews with a Nike store manager who has insight into the information systems they use. We plan to identify any areas Nike lacks and provide recommendations on how to improve through the use of Management Information Systems to enhance its competitive advantage and business strategy.
Thesis
This report argues that Nike’s effectively uses Management Information Systems, and that is a key factor in their successful sales strategy and operational efficiency. This is seen through their B to C and retail processes within the company. However, filling gaps and improving systems and processes like the use of real time data could strengthen Nike's presence further within the market.

Nike operates through both in-person retail stores and a strong online platform, allowing customers worldwide to access its products. The company sells athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories designed for a wide rang of sports and everyday lifestyle wear. Nike was created with the goal of improving athletic performance, inspired by Bowerman’s desire to design better running shoes for his athletes.

Through its global reach, Nike has been able to inspire athletes of all levels by offering innovative products that emphasize performance, durability, and style. The company is widely recognized for its advanced technology in footwear and apparel, such as cushioning systems and moisture-wicking fabrics, which help athletes perform at their best.
John Donahoe became CEO of Nike in 2020and has focused on digital transformation, direct-to-consumer growth, and sustainability initiatives. Under his leadership, Nike has continued to expand its global presence while strengthening its brand identity and commitment to innovation and inclusivity. Today, Nike stays s one of teh ost influential and successful athletic brands in the world.
